Hello everyone, and sorry if I’m bothering you…
I’m very new to this whole icon making thing, and I’m especially interested in animated icons… the main problem being I have no idea how to make them so they’ll fit for livejournal! They usually end over 80 KB heavier than what I need… here’s an example ----> http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/47691349/ (Let’s see how many get the joke)
I HAVE seen cons with such ridiculous quantity of screens, so it’s not impossible…

hi!
a day ago i faced a problem in my community http://community.livejournal.com/table_adventure/ using layout "Style Contest" theme "Magic paper" (advance account)
The problem is that u-pics are small and not showing properly. It shown up three days ago but I haven`t made any changes in my account!
I think that something happend with Layout. I`ve tried to change it to some other and everything was ok then. But i like my current style very much and don`t want to change it!
How can i solve this problem?

I have 3 icon sized pictures that I really want made into one icon- one of those ones that cycles through the pictures. That's all I need- just the 3 pictures combined into one icon. No text or decoration or anything. I just made an avatar, and tried to upload it as a user pic. Then this message comes up:

Hello. I am pretty new to icon making in general but I am learning a whole lot of new stuff. One thing I really want to do is use an animated GIF sprite from a video game, in a LJ icon. I don't know how to add the gif, to a base and still have it work. I have no luck messing around so far.
I am using Photoshop 7.0. And point in the right direction would help. Sorry if this is a really silly question.

I have been trying to find some one who can make icons from video clips. It's not for an LJ icon though, it's for a phone.. so I would imagine you can probably make the file size a bit biggger, and also the display size too... if any one here knows how to do it, or knows some one who can I would sincerely appreciate it.

The screen size is about 4CM high and 3.2CM wide.
If It could be done I would appreciate it.. but if It can't just let me know..

| What's the best Optimizer? |

I'm trying to make an animated icon, but I'm having troubles keeping it under 40K without losing quality. I was using Microsoft Photo Editor to resize, optimize, copy and paste them over to my Gif Movie Gear software-which has a lousy gif compressor-frame by frame, but Microsoft has discontinued that software.
Can anyone direct me to a software that they know of or use to Optimize Jpeg/Gif Images and animated Gifs. And what's your opinion about a Animated Gif Optimizer compared to the individual Jpeg/Gif image Optimizer, which is better?
I was only able to find two software programs through the search engine, "Rea Compressor and Image Optimizer," but am not sure about the performance. Any opinions or advice would be nice!

Animation effects (Only for icons): I'd like it to be a flashing icon. On the first image, I'd like the picture (the link I included) with the word "sexy" diagonally across it in a scripty grey transparent font. The second frame should have a black background with red font saying "You'll always be my middleweight champ". Just that flashing over and over

Anything else: Winky Wright (the guy in the picture) is my favorite boxer ^.^ He just tied (*coughwoncough*) a fight against Jermain Taylor last weekend and he was pretty pissed about it. But he'll always be my middleweight champion.

I was hoping someone could help me with an icon creation request.
I have a picture of myself that I really like. Unfortunately, the picture includes a guy I am no longer dating.
I'm fairly certain that it can become a picture of only me if the background becomes black, but I am not proficient enough in Photoshop to do that. This is where you come in.

I'd be very appreciative if someone could make 2 pictures for me:
1) Regular-sized picture, >500 pixels.

I have a Sponsored + account. I downloaded a mood theme from someone and now I can't figure out how to use it. It's a zip file with all the themes in it. There isn't any url that I can enter like it wants me to. I'm a little confused. Help?

Hey gang, I have discovered I am Visual Orientation Challenged... so making icons (aside from simple resizing) is just Not Working for me :) So can someone help me out and make me a really easy icon?
Basically, using the picture I included below the cut, I'd like the phrase "Democrats are sexy. Who ever heard of a nice piece of elephant?" in just like a slideshow animation (like donkey in the first 'slide', "Democrats are sexy" in the next one, etc but I'm not married to that order). No special colours (white background would probably work best) or fonts really (aside from one that's readable!).

Hello everyone. I am kinda new to the whole icon scene. I have Microsoft Picture It! Publishing 2001, and I am trying to figure out how to make a .gif file that will work. I make one, and save it as a .gif, but then when I post it as an icon the pics don't switch....help please! :)

I'm trying to make some icons from a favourite comic of mine, Maka Maka. But I'm new to icon-making and everytime I try to resize the cropped picture to 100x100 pixels, the picture turns out very blurry. I try to use photoshop option to sharpen it, but it doesn't look very nice after I've sharpened it. Are there any tips from seasoned icon-makers to help me do it right and make my icons look pretty?

I'm having trouble with this icon I've been trying to make. I'd shrink it down in ImageReady, but LJ still won't accept it.
I just want this picture,  to be acceptable for posting with. I don't need any sparkly text, flashing lights or anything else.
Thank you! It's really stressful and discouraging to get those error messages over and over again no matter what I do. They even said it wasn't 100x100 even after I had shrunk it down several times.
The original image is the above. Again, many thanks to anyone who can conquer this beast for me. ^_^

hey, i have a question about animated icons. a week or so ago before my computer crashed (virus) i could see animated icons. i re-installed every program on my computer that i know of, but animated icons on live journal just don't.. work anymore, they don't move. does anyone know of anything i should download to make them animated again?

I would love some advice on why this happens - Some icons I make look just fine in my PSP program and when viewing on my computer - Then I upload them and the text looks softer and blurry. Here are a few examples of what I am talking about (If you like them, feel free to use them with credit please).
Oh and I better say this - These could be offensive by way of language and sexuality but these are my best examples of this problem. Please feel free to delete if posting this sort of thing is completely inappropriate.
